Is Disney World is so incredibly expensive, how can so many people afford to go?

I have heard that everything is so high priced and of course I haven’t been able to afford to go and take my child on a schoolteacher’s salary. How do other people do it? Do teacher’s kids just never get to see Disney?

I was a single mother for many years, received no child support, and lived on a clerical salary. What I did was get a big jar labeled “Disney World!” and put all my spare change in it, did a yard sale and put all the profit in the jar as well. We lessened the amount of times we got fast food and cooked at home instead. Some how, some way, we managed to scrounge enough money to go to Disney for 8 nights (one adult, one child). It was really great and I’m glad we made the efforts to sacrifice for a few months in order to save up for Disney. You can do it, it just takes some money management and time to save up enough $$ in order to enjoy yourselves without the worry if you’ll go broke by the end of your vacation.
