How do I sabotage a terrible boss?
Our company has many, many useless policies that seem designed only to cull the herd. EX: If we are seen not wearing a ballcap & lanyard (dog collar) with the company’s logo then we are subject to termination. HOW STUPID! This is just one of many examples I could quote but you get the jest.
Now my foreman has learned that our global e-mail list has another employee with the same name as mine. When I came to work this morning he said “You have to use a different name”! Just like that. No explanation, no encouragment to help find a solution or work with the company.
Sounds minor but it is this type of demeaner that is driving me to quit. This job has a decent pay scale so I tolerate a lot of the little ****. But now, with his attitude, I find harder to show up for more of his crap. How can I ‘help him’ to move on instead of me?
If you’re going to quit, go out in style. Tell him you’re going to use a different name. Seem overly cooperative and let him know you’ll be using the name Tony Danza. Be sure to smile. Then, the next time he calls you, say, “Who’s the boss? Tony Danza’s the boss, bitch!”
